I have spent a lot of time on the roof of my house, the roof of which is made out of gudron. It was there that I got the first impulse to apply this material. I liked its softness and perceived it as a fabric. Goudron is a very diverse material, it looks like a solid crystal, a stone, then, it melts and becomes a liquid. I even had a roof over my head, a symbol of protection, and I had a weird feeling when the “roof” (or gudron), which is a metaphor for such “guarantees,” melted in front of me and became a thin mass. From this work I have always thought that already well-established ideas can always move. Sometimes I write texts for my works, again to make sure I understand what I am doing. One of the phrases in the text of this installation is - "I have never been so thankful for a roof that saved me in absurdity, but it saved me well."
